Get your hands dirty to understand what truly inspires Squamish CAN! Whether you prefer to use your hands or your head, you will find a warm welcome. Are you interested in food/ gardening, waste reduction/ recycling or energy and transportation - or all of the above?
Here are some ideas on the best ways to get involved.
Try your hand at a variety of activities to help our current projects. Anyone can volunteer with Squamish CAN.
Help out around the community garden. Reduce your carbon footprint. Attend a meeting. Speak to the public. Educate your neighbours.
Do you have any special skills, knowledge, or tools? Tell us what you can do!
Also, check out our Event Calendar for upcoming events - most of our events are run by volunteers and we are always looking for people to help with upcoming events.
Projects Seeking Volunteers and Contacts
Our current projects can use your help! Below you can find the projects most particularly seeking volunteers, along with contact information.
Seed Library/Seedy Sunday
We need help with data entry, communicating with our members, organizing workshops, hosting workshops, garden and seed saving mentorship, organizing the library, preparing seed packets, and translating our educational materials into different languages (especially languages of prominent minority groups in Squamish!). Let us know if you can lend a hand with any of those!
All Member Meetings/ AGM
All Member Meetings happen several times per year. A great opportunity to get involved, learn about current projects and to find out about possibilities for you to become a Squamish CAN volunteer or to start a project. Our AGM is usually held in the spring each year.
